Description
Left on the doorstep of a monastery as an infant, Marcelino was raised by the monks. He was well-cared for but lonely and missed having a mother. One day he found a special friend in the forbidden attic, hanging on a cross. A friend that would repay Marcelino's kindness by granting him one heart-felt wish.

One day after sneaking into the attic, which has always been to forbidden him, he finds a life-size crucifix. Frightened at first, he then believes the figure on the cross is alive and suffering, and brings it food. The figure speaks and thanks the child. When Marcelino brings food again later, the voice tells him that he can have anything he wishes -- and Marcelino asks to see his mother.
